Pit Bull Lovers Wanted!
Join the Pit Bull Alliance
Due to the increasing issues surrounding pit bull dogs, an association of local animal welfare organizations along with concerned citizens and animal welfare professionals has formed to address the over-population of Pit Bull Type dogs in the greater Kansas City area and promote responsible pet ownership of bully breeds through training, education and spay neutering.
The Pit Bull Alliance seeks to:
- Spay/Neuter 70% of all bully breed dogs in the greater Kansas City area by the end of 2008
- Support and promote strong and effective breed neutral dangerous dog legislation on both a local and state level.
- Provide education programs to all schools, youth programs and community organizations in the targeted area about bite prevention, dog safety and responsible pet ownership.
- Provide responsible dog ownership and handling training to all bully breed owners
The group is currently seeking community leaders to meet with and assist with animal related problems in their community or the people they serve. By backing this program and supporting this coalition, Kansas City has the chance to set a precedent for cities across the nation in animal welfare, specifically dealing with the most popular breed right now, the pit bull type dog. Our efforts will create a safer and more humane community.
Please visit our website at http://www.pitbullalliance.org or email us at pitbull@pitbullalliance.org for more information or to join the coalition.
The Pit Bull Alliance Group is comprised of members from leading Kansas City animal welfare groups (Spay and Neuter Kansas City, No More Homeless Pets-Kansas City, Kansas City Dog Advocates, Wayside Waifs, Missouri Pit Bull Rescue, and Mid-America Bully Breed Rescue) and concerned citizens. The alliance works with neighborhoods and citizens in the metro through intense marketing campaigns, volunteer efforts, media attention, and outreach education.
